Woman raped by several men outside church

A 20-something woman was sexually assaulted by multiple men outside a church in Epsom, Surrey, after exiting a nightclub. The incident is believed to have happened between 2:00 and 4:00 BST on Saturday. Officers are investigating the event, which took place near the Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road.

Det Insp Aine Matthews stated: “This is a deeply troubling event, and specialist teams are providing support to the victim.”

Authorities have not yet secured full details of the suspects but are actively pursuing leads to locate and identify them. The investigation is still in its preliminary phase, with police working quickly to build a clearer understanding of the circumstances.

Matthews added: “Our probe is at an early stage, and we will release more information as soon as possible. We are looking for anyone who was in the area during the early hours of Saturday, specifically between 2:00 and 4:00 BST, who may have seen or spoken to a woman in her 20s in distress.”
