Two more murder arrests following 14-year-old boy’s fatal shooting
Following the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Woolwich, south-east London, two additional suspects have been detained on murder charges. The incident occurred on Lord Warwick Street at approximately 15:40 BST on Thursday, leaving the victim, Eghosa Ogbebor, dead at the scene. Police confirmed that a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested on Saturday, while a 46-year-old man was also taken into custody for suspected involvement in the case.
Three individuals were taken into custody on Friday, including two teenagers and an 18-year-old man, but all were later released on bail. Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, leading the investigation, highlighted the ongoing efforts of detectives to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. “Residents in Woolwich may have noticed a large amount of police activity last night, as officers detained three further people linked to the investigation,” she said.
“We appreciate the concern that Eghosa’s death has caused, particularly among the local community who will continue to see an increased police presence around the area,” Card added. She encouraged anyone with information or who witnessed unusual activity in the vicinity to reach out to the authorities.
