Burglars Who Used Rightmove to Plan Raids Jailed

A group of four individuals involved in a series of burglaries across the UK, which totaled over £1 million in stolen goods, have been sentenced to prison. The men, hailing from the West Midlands and Sheffield, were part of an Albanian-based gang that targeted affluent households with precision. Their method involved leveraging online tools to map out their criminal strategy.

Guilty Pleas and Sentencing Details

At Chester Crown Court, the offenders admitted to their crimes. The sentences ranged from nine years to 10 years and nine months. One member, Endrit Nikolli, 27, will receive his verdict at a future date. The gang’s activities spanned multiple regions, including Cheshire (eight incidents), Middlesbrough (two), Derbyshire (nine), and others such as Leicestershire (two), Nottinghamshire (five), Staffordshire (seven), Warwickshire (two), Birmingham (three), Worcestershire (three), Hereford (two), and Shropshire (one).

Planning the Crime with Digital Tools

Authorities revealed the criminals used Google to pinpoint high-value postcode areas before accessing Rightmove to study property layouts. This digital reconnaissance helped them select optimal targets and plan their entries. Once inside, they systematically searched for valuables, including gold, and used makeshift bags like bed sheets to transport stolen items.

Stealthy Entry Tactics

Cheshire Police uncovered the gang’s usual method of entry, which involved accessing homes via the first floor using a ladder. This tactic allowed them to bypass certain alarm systems that only monitored ground-level areas. In some cases, they ransacked entire residences, leaving behind chaos as they collected cash, jewelry, and other prized possessions. One notable incident saw them remove an entire safe from a home, captured on camera.
